- IT's TRULY IN OUR NAME -
When the Critters Corner Social Network was established on the Ning platform in 2010, our members were pleased with the name of our new found social network. As we proudly went into our second year here on Ning we decided to add the word " FAMILY " to our social networks name to serve as standing tribute to a very dear lady to all of us that has came to know and love her.
Doris aka Momma Doris
At the age of 94 Doris is our eldest member and don't think that she is not up on her game as she is very active and a true inspiration to everyone. Doris has taught us the importance of friendship and family togetherness. We are very honored to have Doris here with our Critters Corner Family.

Sometimes being part of a social network all you can do is get to know each other by participating in chat, discussions and maybe a frequent phone call. For some people this is all they can ever expect from a social networking site. We went a step further in 2011 by making our members feel a little closer by holding our first ever Member Meet in Tennessee.
Our members traveled from all corners of the United States for a week of fun and relaxation. Now time has passed and our Member Meet is just a memory, but we all that attended holds onto the special moments that we all shared.
What makes a great social network is it's members and when one of those members passes away to be with their Lord and savior they are greatly missed. The members of the Critters Corner Social Network honors and remembers our members for their compassion, love of life and unity within this social network.
Bonnie has been a valued member of the Critters Corner Family since March 28, 2011 she is active within the site and always has something nice to say about everyone. One of her best pictures is the ones she takes of birds and her dog Boo Bear. Bonnie lives in Arizona,

The WSPA Member Society Network is the largest international alliance of animal welfare organizations in the world, with more than 900 member societies in over 150 countries. The network is an international force that influences local decision makers and governments alike. Collectively, we work to create a momentum of positive change for animals worldwide.Member societies range from large organizations, covering a range of welfare issues, to small groups working on specific problems. All are working towards improving animal welfare, be it on a local, national or international scale.
Dogs can suffer and die when left inside parked cars, even on mildly warm days. On a 78-degree day, the temperature inside a shaded car is 90 degrees, while the inside of a car parked in the sun can reach 160 degrees in minutes. Animals can succumb to heatstroke in just 15 minutes.
If you see a dog left alone in a car, take down the car's color, model, make, and license plate number and have the owner paged inside the store, or call local humane authorities or police. Do whatever is necessary to get the dog out of the car—his or her life may depend on it.
If you lack the time, consider giving donations to those organizations whose good work on behalf of animals is something you appreciate and wish to materially support.
Animal Rights vs Animal Welfare
Animal Rights (AR) Rights Advocates and Groups talk about humane care, the bottom line is to work for humane care and legislation ONLY until all animals can be removed from human use. The reason for this is the Animal Rights belief that no species on this planet is better than another; therefore, humans have no right to dominate over, use, breed, or eat non-human species
Animal Welfare supports humane use and treatment of animals and believes that humans have a responsibility to care for animals. Animal Welfare includes humane treatment and responsible care of animals used by humans for service, research, food, education, kept in zoos or sanctuaries, and especially those animals kept by pet owners.
